OK·1 Safety & Ergonomics Awarded Patent For Cradle Technology™ Knee Pad Innovation
8/1/06
Altus, Oklahoma – August 1, 2006 - OK•1 Safety & Ergonomics, a leading manufacturer of workplace safety and ergonomics products, announced today the issuance of a patent from the United States Patent and Trademark Office for OK-1’s proprietary Cradle Technology™.
After years of research and engineering, OK-1 developed a unique system for designing knee pads, in which the user’s patella is encased, or “cradled,” by the knee pad. This technology allows the knee and knee pad to effectively work as a single unit, reducing rollover while increasing stability and comfort.
This innovative technology is already being utilized in five OK-1 Knee Pads currently available: the KP-GEL, KP-110, KP-210, KP-310 and KP-720. These latest editions to OK-1’s Knee Pad line increase the total number of Knee Pad offerings to over 20 unique styles.
“An extraordinary amount of work went into developing Cradle Technology and we’re all very pleased with the recent patent award,’ stated Jeff Huff, OK-1’s Director, Sales & Marketing. He continued “we’ve already received a tremendous amount of interest in this new technology and feedback from users has been overwhelmingly positive.”
OK-1 holds numerous patents; from contoured lifter’s belts, to pre-curved gloves and more. The company has a product engineering staff dedicated to developing new technologies that improve current products.
